About Sharine
Sharine is a singer-songwriter, musician, author, and creative explorer whose life has taken her from a small Wisconsin town to the clubs of Los Angeles and into the quieter cadence of Central California. Her story is one of reinvention, resilience, and relentless artistic curiosity.
Musical Journey
Born a classical flute player and lifelong book-lover, she grew up with a deep, often misunderstood desire to rock. Her early years blended meditation and mischief, curiosity and chaos. In college she dove into psychology before buying a one-way ticket to Los Angeles — leaving behind family, snow, and mosquitoes for music, love, and creative possibility.
She sang backup in early bands, wrote her first songs, formed new bands, and immersed herself in the unpredictable rituals of the music industry. She recorded a full-length album, toured, and chased the ever-elusive record deal. The journey included sleeping on sofas, rehearsing in garages, and learning guitar, bass, and piano to expand her artistic reach.
Reinvention and Return Home
After years of striving, inspiration, burnout, breakthroughs, and more striving, she shifted direction. She returned to school, studied Communication Studies, and balanced academic writing with rock songwriting — sometimes in the same sitting. Eventually, she left Los Angeles for the Central Coast, reconnecting with small-town quiet and rediscovering her creative voice with renewed clarity.
She later wrote her memoir Cravings, Ravings, & Misbehavings — a colorful, candid exploration of coming-of-age, creativity, and the reckless optimism it often demands.
The Artist Today
Part romantic, part pragmatist, part philosopher, part free spirit, Sharine continues to defy simple labels. She writes. She sings. She teaches. She creates. She experiments. She laughs at herself often and never stops exploring what her art can become next.
