Hello and welcome to my new website!
I truly hope that you enjoy your experience here. Because, while I do take my work seriously, I like to have fun and tell stories along the way. There is a spectrum of weight and whimsy—like Jupiter and the butterfly—in all of my projects, and I think you will get that as you get to know me.
Here is a bit of relevant history that you may find interesting: I secured the sharine.com domain way back in 1997 when the internet was still relatively new. In those early years, I didn’t have the technical skill to create a website that made me truly excited to share with the world… but I was fortunate to know a guy who got me started. That website was decent and still felt fresh into the mid-aughts because I could update it fairly easily.
As the internet began to look more sophisticated, my website suddenly looked dated and unappealing. So I hunkered down with technology au current, using an Adobe application called Muse to create a pretty cool website that even included cute parallaxing photos.
But then, Adobe deleted Muse from its panoply of apps, and I could no longer do updates.
Worse, I found out that my web hosting account had gotten hacked. Weirdos were using my data storage on Earthlink to upload—nope, don’t go there, because it was not “dark web” kind of stuff. It was (get this) mostly news articles, opinion pieces, and images related to US politics.
Yawn.
Still, the weirdo hackers messed up my cool website, so much so that my site was no longer visible at all on the internet. And Earthlink was of no help. (They hadn’t even alerted me to the abuse.)
So I switched to a different web host, and my website was parked with no visible content for another two years. This butterfly icon that I created is one of the few remaining “old website” assets.
And yet, like a butterfly exiting its cocoon after a long intentional growing period, during which I worked on several artistic projects, beautiful things emerged and started to fly.
In late 2025, I was introduced to Digital Agility Media, the company that built this website. And I couldn’t be more thrilled. I get to talk with real people who have real minds filled with ways to use the power of the internet in positive, creative ways. No more programmed AI chatbots that drive me to near insanity with corporate flow-chart-based choice-loops dumping me into cul-de-sacs from hell.
It’s a freeing feeling! And one of gratitude, as well. I wish for you to have a similar experience here. Browse around at your leisure. Do some reading, listening, or viewing. I’ll write blog posts when I can. As things get rolling, expect articles about all my favorite creative activities, projects, experiences, and more. Soon you will discover that the butterfly—a fluttering creature of strength, delicateness, and soulful delight—chose me as much as I chose it.
